Between 1838 and 1851 the most Catholic of Philippe Buchez's disciples, Henri-Robert Feugueray (1813-1854), tried to redefine the republican and working class tradition spreading the idea of the «République dans l'atelier» in his articles, published on Correspondant, Revue Nationale, L'Ere Nouvelle, Revue des Réformes et du Progrès. Le socialisme chrétien en 1847-1848. La Revue Nationale de Buchez et Ott

Fondée par Philippe Buchez et Jules Bastide, la gérance de la revue est confiée à Auguste Ott, qui en devient ensuite le directeur, en reconnaissance de sa fidélité à Buchez. Jusqu'à la Révolution de 1848, la Revue Nationale, éditée par le typographe René et Compagnie, maintient son rythme mensuel. Durant toute sa publication, il coûte 10fr à Paris et 12fr dans les départements. A partir du 9 mars 1848, suite à l'avènement de la Seconde République, la revue acquiert le sous-titre d'Organe de la démocratie chrétienne, et devient un hebdomadaire dans le but d'informer plus fréquemment ses lecteurs sur les affaires politiques et institutionnelles du pays.
